Glaswegian game developers shortlisted in TIGA Games Industry Awards

22 October 2014

Winners to be announced on November 6th

Three Glasgow-based game developers have made the final cut of the annual TIGA Games Industry Awards. Dimensional Imaging, Chunk Games and EM Studios will all compete for awards alongside nine other Scottish Games developers. There are no less than 28 categories, open only to TIGA members, plus two special awards, one for Game of the Year and the other for Person of the Year.
The last two years have seen a boom in the already thriving industry for Scotland. TIGA found that in 2012/2013 the number of studios in Scotland grew from 81 to 94, employing 964 staff. Not only that but both direct and indirect tax revenues rose by 17%. That's an increase from £35 million to £41 million. They also found that contributions to the UK's GDP from the region's developers now stands at £99 million.
