The international waterfront regeneration conference and exhibition has returned to Glasgow, where it was held in 2006. WaterfrontExpo 2011 Scotland takes place 2 - 3 November at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
WaterfrontExpo 2011Scotland is an opportunity to learn
first-hand how seven very different cities from around the globe
have undertaken a major transformation of their waterfronts over
the last decade. Delegates will discover how this transformation is
stimulating further investment in regeneration and development and
gain specific insights into the experience of three major Scottish
cities in using waterfront regeneration to create new investment
opportunities.
Commenting on the format and content of this year's event, Allan
McQuade, Director of Business Infrastructure at Scottish
Enterprise, said: "One of the big issues for delegates at
regeneration conferences is that they rarely have the opportunity
to find out how masterplans and economic aspirations have actually
turned out in practice.
"WaterfrontExpo 2011 Scotland will address this shortcoming by
offering a superb combination of informative speakers, guided tours
of the Clyde and Edinburgh waterfronts as well as city workshops
with developers and a civic reception in the stunning Riverside
Museum.
"The conference and exhibition will offer an invaluable learning
experience for city authorities and waterfront property
professionals. For developers and investors seeking investment
opportunities, the event will offer an excellent chance to network
with existing waterfront investors and assess the investment
potential of 3 Scottish cities."
