Glasgow based film distributor, Park Circus, has announced plans to open an office in Los Angeles.

With a back-catalogue of 12,000 titles, the plans to open an office in Los Angeles represent significant expansion opportunities for the Glasgow company.

The company - which lists Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM), Miramax and Walt Disney among its clients - is opening the US base so that it can target the American cinema market.

The firm specialises in putting classic films - from Brief Encounter and Casablanca through to Local Hero, below, and The 39 Steps - back on the big screen.

Founded in 2003, Park Circus work to make it simple for rights owners to offer their back catalogues theatrically, whilst, at the same time make it easy for exhibitors to book films for screenings.
